Our Advice

Volunteers coming from different homes, countries and backgrounds it is always likely that you may meet volunteers who have no clear-cut goals and are unsure as to why they are here and the benefit they want to gain from the program. Such people often bring negative energy and disrupt those who are focused. If you feel there is a volunteer on your program who is not cooperating and making your stay on the program uncomfortable, please contact your program co-ordinator immediately for assistance to address these issues.

Learn and Grow

Volunteers are people who choose to sacrifice their time, money, energy and comfort to put similes on the faces of others and help those less fortunate. Volunteering is the act of doing all these things and involves courage, discomfort, sacrifice, endurance and hard work. Your volunteer experience in Ghana is more than giving back — it’s also about personal growth. You’ll learn to adapt, lead, collaborate, and communicate across cultures. The experience often inspires new perspectives and life paths for many who join.

Challenges with volunteering:

The main challenge for most volunteers while in Ghana will be the food and the weather but this will vary from volunteer to volunteer. Some people adjust quickly whilst others take longer, but the key is to remain focused on why you here in Ghana in the first place. Give yourself a chance to try new things and have different experiences.
